Anna Lapwood Returns

Member of the British Empire Anna Lapwood will be returning to play an organ concert at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Friday, May 1, 2026.  Ms. Lapwood has taken the classical music world by storm over the last few years and has utilized social media platforms to bring the pipe organ back to the foreground of music.  Playing themes from How to Train Your Dragon, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The DaVinci Code has impressed audiences that the pipe organ can not only play the classical works long associated with it but also modern compositions, thrilling audiences of all ages. 

For many years, the pipe organ industry has been predominantly headed by male organists, but Anna is on a mission to change that with her hashtag #playlikeagirl.  She was the first female in Magdalen College Oxford’s 560-year history to be awarded the Organ Scholarship.  As Organist of the Royal Albert…
